What are the benefits of massage therapy?
For many, a massage is the ultimate self-care. It sends yourself a message that you matter and your quality of life is important. This may counter some of the past negative messages you received through abuse or neglect. Therapeutic massage by our licensed massage therapists offers physical touch helpful to healing body and spirit.
Research clearly shows that massage lessens stress, depression and anxiety. It has also proven beneficial to reducing pain from migraines, lower-back pain, and fibromyalgia. Other research even shows massage to be beneficial to reducing craving for cigarettes, lowering diastolic blood pressure and boosting immunity.

How do massage therapy and counseling work together?
Counseling and massage therapy are both about healing—they just come from different directions. In counseling, you have the opportunity to work through issues that have been causing you loss, fear or other pain. Since the body andmind are linked, you may carry some of that emotional pain or stress in your body. We see this all the time with worry, depression or trauma, for example. Massage therapy can work on relieving the same issues but through the body instead of the mind. Through physically releasing tension and pain, emotional healing can also be promoted. It can be a powerful combination—and one very rarely found in counseling offices!
What types of massage do you offer?
We offer Swedish massage (light to medium pressure to relieve stress, pain, relaxation and mood), deep tissue massage (firmest pressure targeting the deepest muscle layer to release muscle tension) and trigger point therapy (alternation of pressure and release to pain). Ask your massage therapist, if you’re not sure which you should request.
What’s a typical session like?
Before your session begins, your massage therapist will review the information you completed about your preferences and needs. They will greet you, walk you back to their office, and ask you about any particular areas of the body that are causing you pain or that you’d like to focus on. Then they’ll step outside to give you the chance to undress to your level of comfort. You’ll remain covered except for the area they’re focusing on. They’ll give you a few moments to get on the massage table, knock before re-entering, and then your amazing massage begins! During the massage, they’ll welcome your feedback about your preference for pressure or anything you need done differently. Afterward, you’ll feel rejuvenated and so glad you made the appointment!
What does massage therapy cost?
Prices are being finalized and will be posted here. We’ll charge the card you submitted with your initial paperwork. Tips are at your discretion and suggested percentages are 15-25%. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged for the session.
