"When we walk to the edge of the all the light we have and take the step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe one of two things will happen--there will be something solid for us to stand on, or we will be taught to fly" --Patrick Overton
People who choose to work with me usually have one thing in common--they've lost something they can't replace. For many, that is a physical or medical condition, for others it's death of a loved one or loss of an important relationship.
I have 18+ years of experience helping clients grow, heal and change through these losses. I'm confident our work together can help you--no matter how overwhelmed you may feel now. I can promise a warm, non-judgemental attitude and just the right amount of challenge to help you grow.
I have experience with adults in multiple settings including community mental health, universities, inpatient mental health, hospice, and skilled nursing facilities where I have served as psychologist, clinical coordinator, and clinical director. My doctorate is from Texas A&M University and I'm a sixth generation Texan.
I hope you'll contact me and we'll set up a short initial phone call to see if we're a good match for what you're needing.
Serious Medical Issues
From diagnostic uncertainty to treatment, through all the pain, weight changes, energy loss, financial stress, relationship pressure, and all that comes with medical issues, I am trained and ready to help.
Trauma / PTSD
People are resilient, but events can change a person in so many ways--relationships, work life, sleep... I understand and can help you find a way to make peace with past trauma. You can live freely again.
Depression can be crippling in how it slowly strips us of our desire, energy and joy. I help adults learn to recognize and overcome the voice of depression, living fuller, more joyful lives.
